Arri has introduced a whole series of updates for the Alexa 35 as well as support tools. These include the SUP 1.2.1 software update package for the camera itself, version 5.5.2 firmware for the CCM1 monitor and a new version of the ARRI Reference Tool.
ALEXA 35 Software Update Package SUP 1.2.1
With the new firmware version, it is now possible to use the CCM-1 monitor and the MVF-2 viewfinder simultaneously. An improved zoom function (double tap on the CCM-1) has also been added.
For S35 users with a comprehensive understanding of color management, the 1.2.1 SUP now also provides a custom color pipeline in the camera that allows for user-defined color management.
Other features include the ability to change the exposure index (EI) while shooting, support for a fourth axis (AUX) on the Hi-5 and a user button to turn WiFi on and off, as well as bug fixes and stability improvements.
Software version 5.5.2 for Camera Control Monitor CCM-1
This new software for the CCM-1 supports ALEXA 35 SUP 1.2.1 and ALEXA Mini LF SUP 7.3. The software enables the simultaneous use of CCM-1 and MVF-2 on the ALEXA 35, offers an improved zoom function and a waveform monitor display.
The 5.5.2 update is also said to triple the maximum brightness of the monitor when only the VF cable is used. The CCM-1 SUP 5.5.2 is required for use with the ALEXA 35 SUP 1.2.1.
ARRI Reference Tool 1.4.0
The latest update of the ARRI Reference Tool, ART 1.4.0, enables the creation of ALF4c look files required for custom color management with the ALEXA 35.
In addition, ART 1.4.0 displays lens metadata as a timeline and includes numerous bug fixes and general stability improvements.
