Asus introduces 4.11 meter micro LED display - ProArt Cinema PQ09

[11:37 Tue,15.April 2025   by Thomas Richter]

Asus has shown several interesting displays from its ProArt series aimed at professionals at NAB. New were the huge 162" ProArt Cinema PQ09 Display and the ProArt PA16USV monitor with 12G connectivity. The data of the Asus ProArt Display 6K PA32QCV, which was also shown, had already been published in December. In addition, Asus presented its own hardware calibrator for the first time, which combines three functions in one device.

### Asus ProArt Cinema PQ09

The ProArt Cinema PQ09 is the second model in Asus& ProArt Cinema series, which consists of very large Micro-LED displays. Asus is targeting these giant displays at various special application scenarios, such as home cinema, virtual productions (as a small LED wall for virtual real-time backgrounds) and broadcasting. The Cinema PQ07 presented two years ago was already 135" (approx. 3.5 meters) large, the new PQ09 now surpasses it once again by a whole piece with a diagonal of 162" (4.11m). It has a peak brightness of 1,200 nits (and is therefore less bright than the PQ07 with 2,000 nits), a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and a 97% coverage of the professional DCI-P3 color space.

Its pixel pitch is extremely small at 0.93 mm. According to Asus, conventional MicroLED displays only reach 1.2 or 1.5 mm. Asus has not published any further technical data, but it can be assumed that the basic data such as the 4K resolution and HDR support are the same as the PQ07. The price is not yet known, but it should be in a range that makes it only interesting for special applications. The smaller PQ07 cost around 200,000 dollars at launch.

### Asus ProArt Display PA16USV

With the ProArt Display PA16USV, Asus is adding a 15.6" 4K display to its series of SDI monitors. It offers a 12G-SDI interface, an adjustable kickstand, two tripod threads and VESA mounts for effective use in the production studio. Asus has not released any further information.

### Asus ProArt CaliContrO MCA0

With the ProArt CaliContrO MCA02, Asus is including a calibrator in its program for the first time. However, it can only be used with compatible Asus monitors. But it offers a triple functionality: It can be used via Asus apps for hardware and software calibration of compatible ProArt displays and also offers direct access to the on-screen display (OSD) for quick adjustment of screen settings including vibration feedback.

Thirdly, its control puck with integrated buttons and a rotary wheel can be used with the Asus-Dial already known from Asus notebooks to intuitively control Adobe apps and other applications by activating keyboard shortcuts. With the help of user-defined shortcuts, you can zoom into images or adjust the brush size. Asus has not mentioned the price or release date here either.

### Asus ProArt Display 6K PA32QCV

In addition, Asus showed the Asus ProArt Display 6K PA32QCV at NAB, for which we already had a news item in December: It would be the third 6K monitor on the market alongside the Apple Pro Display XDR and the Dell Ultrasharp U3224KB, whose work surface is 145% larger than that of 4K monitors. Like the previous 6K displays, the Asus is also 32" in size. In addition to its 6K resolution of 6,016 x 3,384 pixels, it also offers 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, 100% sRGB, support for DisplayHDR600 (i.e. a minimum peak brightness of 600 nits).

It also comes with numerous connectivity options, such as two Thunderbolt 4 ports with 96 W Power Delivery and daisy-chain support, a DisplayPort 1.4 (with Display Stream Compression), an HDMI 2.1 port and a USB hub. The integrated Auto-KVM switch allows two connected computers to be used with a single keyboard and mouse on the PA32QCV. For better ergonomics, it can be tilted, swiveled and adjusted in height.
