The time has come: Atomos has just released the firmware update 9.11 for its Shogun Inferno monitor recorder, which turns the Pansonic EVA1 into a 5.7K RAW camera. We had already compared ;)
Here are the most important key data for the Atomos 9.11 firmware update for the 5.7K raw recording of the EVA1: Panasonic EVA1 5.7k Raw: supports codecs: ProRes RAW supported frame rates: 23.98/24/25/29.97/30 Automatic HDR configuration for playback: When playing back a movie recorded with AtomHDR monitoring enabled, all HDR settings are automatically restored to match the settings when recording starts. Select the "Auto HDR" button to activate this function. Together with the Atomos Shogun Inferno Update, the Panasonic EVA1 once again significantly improves the price/performance ratio. If the recordings are as uncomplicated as with our little Compressed RAW Shootout: VY=tjbqkkcFD9cs the Panasonic EVA1 should take a big step forward. Keep in mind that currently only on the Mac under Final Cut Pro X Pro Pro Res RAW can be processed natively. There, however, it represents the compressed RAW format with the highest performance known to us at the moment.
