We recently had an Atomos Neon monitor in our editorial office, which we basically liked. However, it could only be adjusted and operated with an iOS app. Now Atomos has also developed an external control panel that makes many of the monitor's functions accessible via external buttons.
Atomos calls this control panel the "Button Bar Remote Control Unit" or BBRCU for short, and it is now included with the NEON monitors.
We have already been able to test it briefly and have added a corresponding section to
our test report. In summary, we can say that although the BBRCU makes it easier to operate the monitor, not all important functions are accessible with it. For example, to switch the signal input or select an input colour space, the iOS app is still necessary...
