Atomos has rather quietly released a new version of its 2017 recorder/HDR monitor/live switch
![]() Atomos SUMO 19 SE The other functions remain unchanged, so the SUMO 19 SE also acts as an HDR monitor, can record video as Apple ProResRAW at 6Kp30 4Kp60, DCI/UHD and 2Kp240 DCI/HD (alternatively CinemaDNG at up to 4Kp30 DCI) via HDMI or SDI, and can also be used to switch (hard cuts and fades) and record four ISO streams plus program channel at up to 1080p60 using its four independent inputs. The Atomos SUMO 19SE is compatible with Sony FS series cameras, Canon C300MKII/C500, Panasonic EVA-1/Varicam LT and others. The SDI and HDMI inputs also provide cross-conversion of signals with 4K>HD down-conversion options. ![]() Atomos SUMO 19 SE Using two V-Lock /Anton Bauer rechargeable batteries, the SUMO 19 can also be mobile, and can thus be used on set as a highly variable monitor including LUT preview, also offering some measurement tools such as vectorscope or wafeform monitor. The full size XLR connectors with 48 V phantom power allow the connection of two external microphones with balanced analog audio recording and monitoring. Microphone or line-level audio can be seamlessly synchronized with embedded audio from HDMI and SDI sources. ![]() Atomos SUMO 19 SE The shock-resistant aluminum chassis has screw holes all around for mounting accessories or to screw the SUMO itself to other equipment, as well as a VESA mount.
