The Atomos Shinobi II field monitor, released last year, introduced several improvements over its predecessor it&s brighter and more compact, and offers camera control. Now, a stripped-down, more affordable version without these extra control options is available. ![]() Atomos Shinobi GO The Atomos Shinobi GO has the same build and features a bright 1500nit 5" Full HD touchscreen in a slim housing; the monitor weighs 210g. It accepts 4K/UHD input via HDMI and offers monitoring functions such as false color, zebra, histogram, waveform and vectorscope. The image can also be displayed in HDR/HLG modes the panel supports 10-bit (8+2 FRC) as well as with 3D LUTs.
Missing are the more professional features of the Shinobi II such as camera control, touch to focus, EL ZONE, anamorphic de-squeeze and ARRI-/RED-support. The Shinobi series does not offer recording functionality; this remains reserved for the Ninja-/Shogun-monitor recorders. ![]() For more robust HDMI and USB-C connections, reinforced or locking cable connectors are used. Power is supplied by Sony batteries (sold separately) or via the USB-C port with a power bank. The camera can also be powered from the monitor (PD in/out). Since it has the same build, Shinobi II accessories, such as the sun hood, can be used with the Shinobi GO.
