The announcement of the EVO II camera drones made a big splash at CES -- depending on the model they offer 8K video recording or in 5.5K, but with a 1" sensor, and can stay in the air for up to 40 minutes thanks to a large battery. Automatic obstacle detection via computer vision sensors is also on board. Originally the EVO II was supposed to be available from February, but apparently there have been problems on the home straight.
On Facebook the manufacturer Autel writes that a bug has been found in the software of the EVO II (8K) which could affect the flight performance. Therefore the further production has been paused until the malfunction has been solved -- one hopes to start with the delivery in March.
At least the competition shouldn't be too upset about this --
according to rumors the EVO II specifications are even said to have induced DJI to rework the Mavic 3 shortly before its launch. It was supposed to be introduced at the end of January, but now it's delayed.
