Blackmagic has just released the latest beta version 5 of DaVinci Resolve 16 (and Fusion 16). This is the Release Candidate, the last version before the final release, which corresponds to it as far as possible (except for minor bugfixes) and therefore already works very reliably.
Blackmagic therefore advises all beta users to upgrade to the latest version. Users who still use version 15 of DaVinci Resolve are recommended to save their active projects as drps and to backup the database (DiskDB and PostgreSQL), because the version jump from Resolve 15 to 16 will make irreversible changes, i.e. the old version will not be able to read the new databases when downgraded.
The new Cut workspace in DaVinci Resolve 16
DaVinci Resolve 16 Beta 5 brings numerous new features, including editable video tracks in the Fairlight workspace; support for 4:4:4 SDI input when using Resolve Live; more reliable QuickSync options for encoding H.264 and H.265 on Windows laptops; optimized marker annotations; and support for monitoring external audio.
Fusion Studio 16 Beta 5 improves performance when painting with lots of strokes, as well as calculation when tiling for more efficient 3D rendering. And it brings support for GPU-accelerated LUTs and better results for the UltraKeyer mat. (Thanks to Henry and Josef for the simultaneous message!)
