Blackmagic Design has introduced the new Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K LINK, as well as two new ATEM Television Studio HD8 models and the ATEM Microphone Converter. With the two ATEM Television Studio HD8 models, Blackmagic is launching a new family of professional all-in-one live production mixers that combine broadcast features in a compact and portable design complete with an integrated control panel. The mixers offer eight scalable SDI inputs, two aux outputs, four ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, two downstream keyers, SuperSource, two media players, DVE, and numerous transitions. They offer features such as live hardware streaming, recording, Fairlight audio mixer, talkback, still graphics storage, multiview, and optional internal cloud storage. The ISO model also records all 8 input signals for later editing. Interfaces.Using the eight 3G-SDI video inputs, multiple cameras such as the Blackmagic Studio Camera or Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 can be connected for different perspectives of an event. All 1080HD or 720HD video sources, regardless of their video standards, are resynchronized to match the mixer&s video standard. Separate program return feeds can be sent to all cameras via the nine 3G-SDI program outputs for tally, talkback and camera control signals. Two aux outputs are also provided for operating stage monitors and master recorders. For monitoring the cameras via multiview on an external monitor, there is a dedicated 3G-SDI and an HDMI output. Using the multiview function, all video inputs, preview and program can be displayed on a single monitor. In addition, each view provides custom identifiers and audio level meters. ;) Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD8 Interfaces An ATEM Television Studio HD connected to a PC via USB is recognized by the PC as a webcam and can thus be used as a 1080HD video source in any corresponding program. With the help of the integrated hardware streaming engine, it is also possible to stream directly from the ATEM Television Studio HD live via Ethernet to the network, for example to YouTube, Facebook and Twitch. The integrated Fairlight audio mixer allows live audio mixing, it has enough channels for all SDI inputs as well as extra channels for the XLR, RCA and MADI inputs. Each input channel has 6-band parametric EQ as well as compressor, limiter, expander, noise gate and full pan control. Operation via panel or software.Most functions are accessed via the control panel or, alternatively, via the free ATEM Software Control operating software (macOS/Windows) - the latter offering even more features such as live mixing, audio mixing, in-camera grading and media management, and the creation and execution of complex macros. Control panel buttons are used to select sources, trigger transitions, and configure video effects. Audio mixer control and a dedicated display for live control are also integrated. There is also an iris lever for manual control of transitions. A choice of SMPTE wipes is available, as well as DVEs that move across the screen to off during transitions between sources. ;) Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD8 Control Software Recording.ATEM Television Studio HD models support recording to external USB drives as well as optional internal M.2 storage. The internal storage and all external USB drives are shared over the local Ethernet network so they can be accessed by the team. Recording is in H.264 format with AAC audio. A new recording can be appended directly to a previous one via "Append" mode. ATEM Television Studio HD8 ISOThe ATEM Television Studio HD ISO model records all input signals in eight separate files synchronized by timecode, plus a master video file, allowing post-processing of live events. In addition, a DaVinci Resolve project file is linked to the video input files and saved. When this is opened in Resolve, the live production is available as an edit timeline. It connects directly to the MADI connector and requires no setup. The ATEM Microphone Converter has four analog inputs switchable between mic and line level, as well as phantom power. Its noise floor is -129 dBV, distortion is 0.002%, and dynamic range is -131 dB(A).
