Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 18.5 Beta 3 brings numerous improvements

Blackmagic Design had (unveiled) the big new version 18.5 of its free grading, editing, compositing and audio mastering program DaVinci Resolve (Studio) www.slashcam.de/news/single/Grosses-Blackmagic-DaVinci-Resolve-18-5-Update-brin-17856.html a little over a month ago, which brought over 150 new features. The just-released third beta version of Resolve and Fusion now brings some interesting improvements and bug fixes.

For example, Beta 3 now brings automatic speech recognition as well as an enhanced transcription feature for 14 additional languages including auto-subtitling. In addition, there is now support for editing and deleting generated text, detecting and displaying silent segments, and the ability to remove those segments from transcribed text. Also, words and paragraphs can now be marked and deleted.

Another focus of the update is the Fusion Multimerge tool. For example, there is now an option to automatically name layers based on the input tool, and multiple layers can be selected and deleted in the Multimerge Inspector - plus managing large sets of layers has been simplified.

Beta 3 also brings better memory management support for Universal Scene Descriptor files and support for Blackmagic RAW SDK 3.1, as well as bug fixes such as scripting API improvements and overall optimized performance and stability.
