Blackmagic Design had (unveiled) a major new version 18.5 of its free grading, editing, compositing and audio mastering program DaVinci Resolve (Studio) www.slashcam.de/news/single/Grosses-Blackmagic-DaVinci-Resolve-18-5-Update-brin-17856.html in April, which brought over 150 new features. The fourth beta versions of Resolve, Resiolve Studio and Fusion, now released, continue fine-tuning on the way to the final version.

Beta 4 now brings Mandarin as the 15th language in the automatic speech recognition in the transcription function in the range of functions. In addition, there are other innovations:
- In remote monitoring, the vertical resolution has been improved.
- The subtitle export gives the user even more control.
- The scripting API has been extended once again.
- In addition, support for Blackmagic RAW has been raised to version 3.2.
In Fusion, there is now support for shadows for Universal Scene Descriptor (USD) lights, as well as improvements to overlay interaction with older FX plugins.

Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 18.5 now available as a fourth beta.
The update is available for both the free version and the Studio variant. The free version offers similar features to the Studio version, but mastering and project output is limited to a maximum of 4K UHD resolution.
The Studio variant offers additional features such as support for multiple GPUs, motion blur effects, temporal and spatial noise reduction, de-interlacing, HDR tools, camera trackers, multiple Resolve FX, stereoscopic 3D tools, and remote rendering.
