Blackmagic Design had introduced a major version jump (18.5) of its free grading, editing, compositing and audio mastering program DaVinci Resolve (Studio)
in April 2023, which brought over 150 new features. As usual, this announcement was followed by a lot of beta releases.
The now released fifth beta of Davinci Resolve, Resolve Studio and Fusion continue fine tuning on the way to the final version. But there are still some really new feature additions, such as support for
Blackmagic RAW 3.3 capture from Panasonic Lumix GH6 cameras.

Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 18.5 is now available as a fifth beta.
With the addition of DaVinci Wide Gamut support, Blackmagic's "house color space" is now available in Fusion for more accurate, lifelike color representation when creating visual effects and motion graphics. In addition, improvements to the "high and low soft controls" in DaVinci Wide Gamut are said to offer finer adjustment and more sensitivity.

The update is also said to better support the blending of text and elements when using gradients - achieving a smoother and more realistic transition from one fill to another.

In the Audio section, the audio encoder bitrate is now adjustable per track, allowing each track to receive a higher audio quality (instead of spreading the audio bitrate across all tracks). Audio playback with Fairlight Audio Accelerator is also said to now be "better" when fast forwarding and rewinding footage.
Also, with this beta release, video output is now said to be truly "clean" when using the clean feed feature on Mac OS for DaVinci Resolve Studio users. This means that when the video output is in full-screen view, a menu bar will no longer appear and obscure part of the view.
As always,
download the update for Windows/MacOS and Linux is free.
