In this new mode, you can create cinematic looks that replicate film characteristics such as halo, overlighting effects, film grain, flicker, gate weave effects and vignetting. Adjust exposure in f-stops and use controls for subtractive saturation, saturation and partial toning to achieve looks that are usually only suitable for large canvases. ;)
One of the most interesting new features of the recently released free grading, editing, compositing, and audio mastering program  DaVinci Resolve 19 by Blackmagic is the new "Film Look Creator2-plugin," which is particularly of interest to filmmakers. This plugin allows for the creation of authentic film looks directly in Resolve, eliminating the need for specialized paid third-party tools such as FilmConvert or Magic Bullet Looks. The new Film Look Creator is seamlessly integrated into color-managed workflows and provides extensive control over colors, textures, and effects like film grain, halation, and bloom. ;) The Film Look Creator offers a wide variety of film looks based on various well-known film emulations and allows users to tailor them to their specific needs. This includes the ability to fine-tune colors, contrast, saturation, and other parameters to achieve the desired visual effect. It also supports integration with ACES and DaVinci Wide Gamut, making it suitable for professional workflows. The Film Look Creator is especially useful for projects that aim to replicate the classic film look without actually shooting on analog film. It enables the easy simulation of visual characteristics of analog film such as halation, overexposure effects, film grain, flicker, gate-weave effects, and vignetting, which can be added in digital post-production using the creator.
