Especially for the new editing functions in DaVinci Resolve, Blackmagic has designed the new DaVinci Resolve Editor Keyboard with dedicated edit keys and a jog shuttle control, e.g. for scrolling in the timeline. In contrast to the 
DaVinci Resolve Control Panels, which rather support the grading functions of Resolve, it is entirely aimed at video editing.
The two additional function blocks to the left and right of the keyboard are designed to help speed up editing by allowing both hands to be used simultaneously to control transport and clip selection during editing. Unlike working with a mouse, users can position clips on the keyboard with their right hand while using their left hand to set in and out points and perform cuts.

Great importance was attached to robustness and repairability. The housing is made of robust metal and is designed for the daily work of professional editors. In contrast to modern keyboards with flat keys, the DaVinci keyboard has a staggered profile, on which you should find your way without looking purely tactile. The key switches resemble those of eSports gaming keyboards and are said to be good for a million operations.
The integrated jog shuttle is made of a solid metal block and allows precise control of transport and trimming functions. The key caps, hand rests, and key switches are all available as spare parts, so the keyboard can always be partially renewed or repaired.

Since inserting intersection points is one of the most commonly used functions in cutting, the keys for setting in and out points have been made extra larger. Once the in and out points have been entered, you can switch to the editing functions using the Edit buttons located above.
With the built-in jog shuttle, users can trim crop marks precisely and quickly. Using special keys, special edit functions such as "Roll", "Cut", "Dissolve" or "Roll Duration" can be switched directly to the desired modes. A number pad specially designed for time code input is available for the input of cut marks and time spans. The "F/TC" key can be used to switch directly between frames and time code.
