At the broadcast trade show IBC, Blackmagic will also present, among other things, an updated model of the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K. It offers the capabilities of a large studio camera in a tiny, rugged body and has now been upgraded with a new MFT 4K sensor with a dynamic range of 13 stops and a dual-gain ISO of up to 25,600.

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 has also been upgraded to include 12G-SDI for operation at up to 2160p/60, and a new USB-C expansion port enables 12bit Blackmagic RAW recording to external hard drives, as well as network control via Ethernet adapters.
SDI and HDMI ports access the built-in color corrector and control the lens. The Log Gamma format is supported for in-camera color corrected looks. Combined with Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science, the 4K sensor offers the same imaging technology as digital film cameras.
Blackmagic Micro Studio Cameras connect in a variety of ways. Since all models have HDMI, they are suitable for HDMI mixer models such as the ATEM Mini. Via HDMI, video, tally, control, and capture triggering for broadcast workflows are supported over a single HDMI cable. 12G-SDI is also available for connecting SDI-based mixers such as the ATEM Constellation. There is one 12G-SDI connector each for the camera feed and the return program feed. The latter also transmits the signals for tally, talkback and remote camera control.
Equipped with a high-speed USB-C expansion port, the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K allows recording to external drives, camera control over a network, and connection of various accessories.
The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera offers numerous options for power. It has a 12V DC power connector with a locking mechanism to prevent accidental unplugging. Also, the camera can be powered by a standard LP-E6 compatible battery, providing users with an additional battery for on-site backup power during critical live broadcasts. The camera can also be equipped with V-Lock batteries via an adapter. This solution is particularly suitable when there is no power connection close to the camera.
Also the larger Blackmagic Studio Camera Plus 4K with its 7" viewfinder
has been updated to version G2. This 12G-SDI enhanced studio camera model allows users to connect to SDI-based mixers such as the ATEM Constellation. The new model also supports remote camera control over networks via REST APIs, as well as talkback via 3.5mm headsets. The camera is available now for €1,459.
