There has been no official announcement from Blackmagic regarding a price reduction or promotion, but since last Friday, the price of the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K has been reduced by around a third at some retailers.
The current boxed Cine-Camera from Blackmagic is now widely available for approximately 2,000 euros including VAT. Such price promotions are not atypical for Blackmagic – however, such a significant price reduction is usually intended to regulate stock levels.

The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K is currently available for 2,000 euros
It is also worth noting that the competition has also become noticeably cheaper in recent months: A RED KOMODO 6K has only cost
3,000 dollars since April this year, and Canon&s C70 has also been available for around 3,000 euros in recent weeks.
Each of these "entry-level" cine cameras has its own strengths and weaknesses, but all models certainly have what it takes for professional, scenic work. The fact that Blackmagic is now lowering the cine price threshold from 3,000 euros to 2,000 euros can only be good news for new buyers in particular. It is certain that never before in history has it been possible to purchase such powerful cine cameras for so little money.

The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K should be available from September for around 5,000 euros
The big sister PYXIS 12K is still not available, but should be in European stores by September at the latest for IBC 2025. The 12K model is currently listed for pre-order by many retailers from around 5,000 euros including VAT.
