Blackmagic has made a new version 2.1 of its Blackmagic RAW package available for free download. The installer includes the Blackmagic RAW Player, the Blackmagic RAW Speed Test, the Blackmagic RAW SDK and editing plug-ins for third-party software.
With the new version, native support for Apple Silicon on the Mac has now been added (i.e. for all new Macs with M1 processor).
Furthermore, there is supposed to be optimised CPU decoding for clips recorded with the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K. Also included with the update is direct support for cameras that can record BRAW clips with Blackmagic Video Assist (Panasonic Lumix S1H, S1 and S5, as well as Nikon Z 6II and Z 7II).
There are also said to be further performance and stability improvements in the Blackmagic RAW plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro. And for the technically interested, there is also a technical reference document for Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science.
Blackmagic lists the following minimum system requirements for the update:
macOS 10.15 Catalina or higher
Windows 10 or higher
CentOS 7.3 or higher
