Blackmagic&s latest model in its UltraStudio series is the compact UltraStudio 4K Mini, which is set between the UltraStudio HD Mini and UltraStudio Extreme 3 in terms of capabilities and price. It features extensive interfaces for recording and playback of audio and video: Thunderbolt 3, Dual-Link 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 and analog interfaces. It supports Genlock, RS-422 controls, 2 channels AES/EBU unbalanced audio in/out, 2 channels balanced audio in/out and RCA HiFi audio in. Recording is available in 8-, 10- or 12-bit broadcast quality with high dynamic range in all formats up to 4K DCI at 30p or 4K DCI 60p (8- and 10-bit).

If a laptop is connected via Thunderbolt 3, it is supplied with 45W charging current. All formats in SD, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 2160p and 4K DCI are supported. On the front panel, the unit features multiple control buttons, a color display for monitoring and setup, an XLR microphone jack, and a 1/4" headphone jack. Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4K Mini supports Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, MAGIX Vegas Pro, and other editing applications.
