Blackmagic Design today introduced the new Blackmagic Videohub 12G model line, which allows users to simultaneously route any combination of SD, HD and Ultra HD video signals. The three Blackmagic Videohub 12G models, with 10, 20 and 40 SDI inputs and outputs respectively, feature a front panel with quick-select buttons, an LCD for displaying labels and live video, and a metal knob for browsing video sources. ![]() Blackmagic Videohub 12G Models
Blackmagic wants to put an end to SDI cable clutter with the Videohub 12G router, allowing users to connect all SDI devices through the Videohub and make all desired connections via internal routing with zero latency. All video inputs can be assigned to any outputs and a single video source can also be assigned to multiple video outputs. This allows each source to be viewed on a single monitor. Integrated Display. The integrated front panel allows video signals to be routed through the front panel controls without the need for additional hardware control panels. The front panel, which is similar to a Videohub Master Control Pro control panel, also has a knob for browsing, direct-entry buttons for quick work, and an LCD for label display and changing router settings - live video from all signal inputs can also be viewed on the LCD, eliminating the need for an external SDI monitor. The labels below the live video display indicate which input is currently being displayed. ![]() Blackmagic Videohub 12G 40x40 SDI I/OAll Blackmagic Videohub 12G models are equipped with multirate 12G-SDI connectors and support SD, HD and Ultra HD video formats up to 2160p/60, making them connectable to SD, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI devices. Input signals in any video standard can be routed simultaneously via Blackmagic Videohub 12G - for example, with the 40x40 model, up to 40 video signals in different standards at the same time. Via 12G-SDI, Ultra HD can be transmitted at high frame rates via a single BNC connector that also connects to all regular HD equipment. ![]() Blackmagic Videohub 12G 10x10 I/O Remote control via control panel or softwareAll Blackmagic Videohub routers are remotely controllable via two types of hardware control panels. The Videohub Master Control Pro control panel resembles the front panel of the Blackmagic Videohub 12G. It has a knob, LCD, and quick-select buttons. The Videohub Smart Control Pro version has all the buttons. It is usually configured so that the panel controls a single router output and each button is programmed for a router input. Thus, one switches directly between all router outputs by pressing a button on the panel. ![]() Videohub Software Control Alternatively, the new Videohubs 12G can also be controlled remotely via software using the free downloadable Videohub Software Control for Mac and Windows as well as IiPadOS. For easy operation, the software has large buttons that can be assigned to an input or an output of the routers and can also be operated on a PC with a touchscreen or an iPad.
