Blackmagic Design has announced the DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel at NAB, another highly affordable panel for color grading with DaVinci Resolve. It features three high-quality trackballs and precision-engineered controls and buttons for fine-tuning primary color correction parameters, navigation and keyboard shortcuts.
This new, much more portable model now also has a slot for the Apple iPad Pro, an internal battery and can be connected via Bluetooth or USB-C. The biggest difference, however, is the price, as the DaVinci Micro Color Panel will be available from May for USD 495. Despite the lower price, there will be individual versions of the panel in different languages. ;) Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel Anyone who does a lot of color correction is usually much more effective with such a console than with a mouse and keyboard. Not only because you can always work with the trackballs in two different color ranges at the same time. The usually high-quality knobs, controls and buttons also generally offer a better feel for the finest adjustments to each parameter. That&s why the new DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel is equipped with three high-resolution, weighted trackballs and twelve precision-engineered controls for direct access to the basic functions of primary color correction. The primary color correction sliders control parameters such as Y-lift, Y-gamma, Y-gain, contrast, pivot point, midtone, color boost, shadows, highlights, saturation, hue rotation and luminance mixing. ;) Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel is not much bigger than a computer keyboard and is powered by a battery or a USB-C port.The panel does not necessarily have to be used with an iPad; it can also be used to control Resolve on a Mac or PC. DaVinci Resolve colorists familiar with the established Advanced Panel will be able to get started immediately with the new panel. The Shift Up and Shift Down buttons triple the functionality of the panel, offering more features than the previous version. On the DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel, users can even adjust the shape, size, position and blur of Power Windows or scale the input image using the same trackballs and rings they use for grading.
