Although the Canon EOS C70 already has about two years under its belt, Canon is still releasing firmware updates that add new "fresh" features. And so there is to be another sixth "update" in December 2022, which will once again expand the functionality of the C70:
For example, the update now brings support for the Canon XC protocol, which enables integration into multi-camera solutions with direct control via the Canon RC-IP100 Remote Camera Controller and Remote Camera Control Application.
In addition, a new Custom Picture Profile image - Canon 709 - has been added to provide a similar look to the original Wide DR - but without using super white to avoid potential range conversion issues. Probably a requirement from the broadcast environment, where "illegal colors" are basically poison for production workflows.

The Canon EOS C70 receives its sixth firmware update in two years
There is much new in the autofocus functions: Canon has now added Eye Detection Autofocus, Face Detection AF, and subject tracking in slow and fast shooting at frame rates of 24-120fps here.
Up to four audio channels can now be displayed, or controlled, on the display.
In addition to the current XF-AVC Intra 410Mbps, the firmware update introduces new 4K Intra recording options up to 60P/50P at 600Mbps, which should(should) still work with fast SD cards.
The firmware update also expands compatibility across the product lineup, supporting the recently introduced Canon Flex Zoom Cinema lenses in addition to the new Cine-Servo CN8x15 IAS S lens.
The v1.0.5.1 firmware update for the EOS C70 is scheduled to be available for download on December 8, 2022.
