For demanding cinema and TV productions with Super 35mm cameras, Canon introduces the high-end
Cine-Servo CN8x15 IAS S E1/P1, whose focal length range extends from 15 mm to 120 mm. With the integrated 1.5x extender, this can be extended up to 180 mm, with the image circle then even covering the full-frame sensor. The 8K optical performance is to be maintained over the entire focal length.
The CN8x15 IAS S E1/P1 features Canon's signature warm color reproduction, which has been matched to Canon's existing range of Cinema lenses, as well as an 11-blade iris diaphragm. The lens supports EF bayonet communications and advanced metadata capture with support for Cooke /i Technology. It is also the first cine-servo lens to enable ZEISS eXtended Data (XD) communication when using the PL bayonet. Information exchange between the CN8x15 IAS S E1/P1 and the camera are critical for VFX, virtual and cinema productions. This is ensured by a 16-bit encoder on both sides, which is also used in Canon's broadcast and cine servo lenses, providing precise metadata on lens position, zoom, focus and iris.
The Cine-Servo CN8x15 IAS S E1/P1 is available with both EF and PL bayonets (interchangeable) and features a zoom grip that can be detached when needed. This allows fatigue-free shooting from the shoulder during EB/AÜ operations, as well as access to the accessories needed for demanding productions.
