Canopus Announces DV-to-analog converter to ADVC55

Canopus today announced the ADVC55, an external video converter, which based on Windows and Mac OS - is computer compatible. ADVC55 a conversion system that converts the VHS, Hi8 and other analog formats to DV. ADVC55 no additional software - driver and requires no direct power because it is powered via the FireWire bus and is therefore ideal for capturing analog video into all notebook and desktop video editing systems that have a FireWire port. The ADVC55 has an automatic Detection of the input signal and provides the front - and rear ports easy setup and connection of peripherals. For desktop and notebook systems that have a 6 - pin FireWire port, the ADC55 is powered through the FireWire cable with power and no external power supply needed. Systems that are equipped with a 4 - pin FireWire port are fully compatible with the ADVC55, although here, the user needs an optional power supply. The ADVC55 will be available from mid January through Canopus authorized dealers at a suggested retail price of 219 €.
