The Italian manufacturer Cartoni, which specialises in camera support, is bringing a whole range of new products to IBC 2019: The RED LOCK tripod, the MAXIMA 5.0 Heavy Duty Cine tripod head and the S200 Broadcast Sport tripod. ![]() Cartoni RED LOCK Tripod
For the first time the new Cartoni RED LOCK tripod seems to have a 75mm or 100mm half-shell mount which can be exchanged by the user himself - an option which we have in our ![]() ![]() The high payload seems all the more remarkable to us because the Cartoni RED LOCK "only" weighs 3kg as an aluminium tripod and thus also seems to offer a very good weight/load ratio in comparison to the carbon fibre competition. Thus the optional exchange of the half shell to 100mm also makes a lot of sense in our eyes. ![]() With the RED LOCK, Cartoni uses (rather classic) 2 closures per thigh for the closures, whereby the upper closure seems to sit comparatively close to the tripod head. A price has not yet been communicated for the Cartoni RED Lock tripod - but according to Cartoni it should be "suprisingly affordable" (which we would expect from an aluminium tripod with double closure per leg ...). Also at IBC 2019, Cartoni will present a new entry-level fluid head of its master series for studio and OB/ENG/EFP productions: The Cartoni Master 25 fluid head has a maximum payload of 30 kg and should also be compatible with competitor tripods and camera plates. The Cartoni Master series has flat mounts so far - we assume that this is also the case with the Master 25. ![]() With the Heavy Duty Maxima 5 Cartoni rounds off its Digital Cinematography Fluid-Head series upwards. Cartoni specifies the payload range from 0-50 kg, with which one is clearly on the move in upper "Oconnor" regions.
