Artificial intelligence has a wide range of applications and is still in its infancy. Researchers like to use vivid gimmicks to show the abilities of neural networks, e. g. how to generate new images. They use a more interesting aspect of neural networks, namely that (in certain configurations) they not only learn patterns and then recognize them, but also recombine and output these recognized patterns.
;) A new research project between NVIDIA and Aalto University in Finland aims to generate portraits of non-existent stars. In addition to the applications, a so-called  GAN (Generative Adversarial Networks) is added - two artificial neural networks that perform a zero-sum game.
