The specialist and market leader for color management products X-Rite will outsource the products of its photo and video portfolio such as the colorimeter i1Display Studio for calibrating monitors or the Colorchecker Passport Photo 2 Testcharts for calibrating cameras to the newly founded company Calibrite.
Calibrite ColorChecker Studio
Calibrite was founded by a group of investors who have worked with X-Rite in the photo and video market for more than 20 years, and will focus exclusively on the specific needs of photographers and filmmakers. Calibrite plans to continue working with X-Rite on product development. Calibrite will assume direct global control from X-Rite over the packaging, distribution and marketing of X-Rite photo solutions, as well as support. The new Calibrite product line will be based on X-Rite&s technology.
Under the agreement, Calibrite will license core technologies from X-Rite. X-Rite will manufacture the monitor and printer calibration equipment and provide color materials from the Munsell lab for the ColorChecker targets.
Calibrite ColorChecker Passport Video
The Calibrite team remains dedicated to an extensive research and development program that will result in upgrades and new products in monitor, printer, camera, scanner and projector calibration.
Product names will remain - for example, models such as the X-Rite i1Display and i1Studio colorimeters, as well as the entire line of ColorChecker test charts, will now continue under the Calibrite ColorChecker name.
Calibrite will provide worldwide support for all existing X-Rite photo and video customers and will assume warranties for products previously sold by X-Rite. Customer support will be offered through a dedicated support portal at www.calibrite.com, with technical specialists responding to support requests via email or phone. Calibrite retains access to X-Rite&s extensive library of customer support documents.
