DJI Mic: 2-channel clip-on wireless microphone system with two transmitters

DJI had already presented its mobile 2-channel wireless microphone system DJI Mic last November together with the modular Actioncam Action 2, but this had somewhat stolen its attention. It was actually supposed to hit the market back in January, but it's only now that DJI's first 2-channel wireless microphone system is actually available - at least in the U.S. In this country, it can only be pre-ordered so far.
DJI Mic
The DJI Mic system consists of a 2-channel receiver and two 30g lightweight transmitters, each with an integrated omnidirectional mono microphone. The system works at a distance of up to about 250 meters line of sight. The audio from the two transmitters, which communicate with the receiver via 2.4 GHz frequency band, can also be recorded in high quality on their 8 GB internal memory (which is equivalent to about 14 hours of recording).

. The DJI Mic receiver features USB-C, Lightning and TRS connectors (some via included adapters), allowing it to be used in conjunction with smartphones, cameras and laptops. The receiver's touchscreen display can be used to make changes to input/output settings and check levels and battery status.
The transmitters can be worn on clothing using their integrated clips or with the magnetic clips, for example for interview setups. A windscreen is included. Transferring the internal audio to the computer (or smartphone/tablet) is done via their USB-C port.

The DJI Mic supports two recording modes: mono and stereo. In stereo mode, audio from the two transmitters is recorded on separate channels, while in mono mode, audio is recorded on only one channel. As a backup, a secondary audio track is recorded at a volume of -6 dB. The input and output sensitivity of the microphones can be adjusted by the user between -12 dB and 12 dB.
Special charging cradle
. The package includes a charging cradle that can be used to power the receiver - but it can also serve as an additional battery-powered mobile charging station itself. Die Akkus der Sender reichen für maximal 5.5 Betrieb, der Akku des Empfängers für 5 Stunden - zusammen mit der Ladeschale sogar bis zu 15 Stunden. Wird die Ladeschale als mobile Ladestation genutzt, reicht deren Strom für 1.8 vollständige Aufladungen des Empfängers samt der zwei Sender. Sender und Empfänger werden automatisch mit deinem Gerät gekoppelt, sobald sie aus der Ladeschale genommen werden.

Preis, Erscheinungsdatum des DJI Mic und Alternativen
DJIs Mic System kann zum Preis von 329 Euro vorbestellt werden. Es steht in direkter Konkurrenz zu anderen bereits etablierten kompakten Drahtlos-Mikrofonlösungen wie etwa RØDEs Wireless Go II und Hollylands Lark 150 - ersteres ist aktuell schon ab rund 250 Euro zu haben, letzteres (welches ebenfalls über eine eigene Ladeschale verfügt) ab ca. 285 Euro. Im Gegensatz zu den beiden anderen Lösungen verfügt das Hollyland-System allerdings über keine Möglichkeit, das aufgenommene Audio auch in den Sendern aufzuzeichnen.
