Finally, the new entry-level drone DJI Mini 3 Pro is here - a lot of info was already
![]() DJI Mini 3 Pro ![]() Better camera, bigger sensor, new gimbal, more fps.The new 1/1.3" 48 megapixel sensor with dual native ISO (the Mini 2 only had a 1/2.3" sensor with 12 megapixels) brings numerous improvements, such as the ability to record 4K, 2.7K as well as FullHD video at higher frame rates. Thus, 4K can now be recorded at up to 60 fps, FullHD at up to 120 fps, and HDR video at up to 30 fps, compressed in either H.264 or H.265 at up to 150 Mbps. In addition, the aperture of the lens is now larger at f/1.7 and thus also faster - good for shooting in low-light conditions. ![]() The video surveillance system used is the new OcuSync 3.0, which allows live 1080p30 video up to a maximum range of 12 kilometers. Another interesting improvement: thanks to a new gimbal, the Mini 3 Pro can rotate the camera by 90° and thus shoot vertical images in smartphone format for social media. 47 minutes flight time with new Intelligent Flight Battery Plus.Included as standard is the Intelligent Flight Battery, which, along with the new, more aerodynamic body, allows for up to 34 minutes of flight time. But for the first time, DJI is also offering a special larger battery as an alternative to extend flight time. The new Intelligent Flight Battery Plus extends flight time up to a whopping 47 minutes, but at a cost, as its use will exceed the 249 gram weight limit and flight rules for the next heaviest drone class, C1, will apply. Now on board for the first time with the new Mini 3 Pro are QuickShot intelligent flight/recording modes such as Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix, Boomerang and Asteroid, which the Mavic 3 had received via a firmware update ![]() ![]() Drone Class C0The Mini 3 Pro is subject to the favorable C0 classification, as it weighs less than 250 grams. It can thus be flown in Germany (and many other countries as well) without the need for a driver&s license (though it is still subject to registration and insurance requirements). Since the European Commission has extended the granted transition period for marking drones with a Class C license plate until January 2024, this means for DJI that new drones to be used in the open category will have to carry the C0-C4 marking for the first time on January 1, 2024, according to Regulation (EU) 2019/947. ![]() DJI Mini 3 Pro The first C-certified drones were last expected in the middle of this year. Since the final certifications will probably not be awarded yet, the aforementioned transition period applies to the Mini 3 Pro. In our ![]() ![]() DJI Mini 3 Pro Price and release date of the DJI Mini 3 Pro.The DJI Mini 3 Pro is now available for pre-order in a variety of configurations and will begin shipping on May 17. The DJI Mini 3 Pro without remote control (for those who already own a compatible remote control) costs 739 euros, with the old DJI RC-N1 remote control the Mini 3 Pro costs 829 euros and with the new DJI RC remote control (including screen) 999 euros. ![]() Two remote control variants Considering the Mini 2&s current price of 459 Euro (including remote control!), this means a very steep increase in price of over 280 Euro. To put it in perspective: the Air 2 (with 1" sensor with 5.4K, APAS 3.0 and FocusTrack) currently costs 849 euros and the top model Mavic 3 around 1,930 or 4,800 euros (Mavic 3 Cine). For those who find the new Mini 3 Pro too expensive or the improvements not worth the significant price increase, DJI still leaves the option to buy the old Mini 2 and Mini SE models - these are still available in the DJI Store. ![]() DJI Mini 3 Pro in a set with RC remote control.
