DJI has unveiled the Osmo Mobile 6, the latest version of its smartphone gimbal series - confusingly, DJI has reverted to the old "Osmo Mobile" moniker after the ![]() DJI Osmo Mobile 6
New features and improvements of the Osmo Mobile 6.Improved in the new version are the ergonomics, as well as compatibility with larger smartphones - otherwise, the Osmo Mobile 6 offers the classic functionality of a "smart" gimbal: 3-axis stabilization along with the revised object tracking system ActiveTrack 5.0. Thanks to a new side wheel, zoom and focus of the smartphone camera can be controlled easily and intuitively. With the rotation of the side wheel, the focal length can be adjusted or manually zoomed in and out. Like its predecessor, the Osmo Mobile 6 has an ergonomically designed grip with an integrated retractable selfie stick, but with a larger phone clamp that is also suitable for smartphones with cases. The Osmo Mobile 6 weighs just over 300 grams and can be carried in a bag when folded. ![]() DJI Osmo Mobile 6 on tripod. The 3-axis stabilization using three motors complements and even surpasses the electronic image stabilization of smartphone cameras in its stabilization effect - especially in strong movements or shooting situations with low light. The new version 5.0 of the ActiveTrack 5.0 object tracking system improves the tracking of objects even at greater distances and also enables the front camera to track subjects that turn sideways or completely around and always keeps it central in the picture. Four Gimbal Modes. Also new is the integrated status panel complete with mode button, which greatly simplifies checking battery status and switching between four gimbal modes. Pressing the M button toggles between the following settings: - Tracking mode: in this mode, the camera follows the pan and tilt movements of the gimbal and remains stable while rolling. This mode is suitable for upward, downward, and diagonal shots. - Tilt Lock Mode: The camera follows only the pan movement of the gimbal and remains stable while tilting and rolling, ideal for horizontal shots or moving around a subject. - FPV mode: Here the gimbal follows the movements of the handle in all three axes. This is perfect for dynamic shots of stationary subjects like landmarks, buildings or statues. - SpinShot mode: press the control stick left or right to control the rotation of the camera view and create dynamic footage. Perfect for shooting from high angles and when moving toward or away from a subject. ![]() DJI Osmo Mobile 6 with integrated telescopic selfie stick.
