DJI Transmission - wireless video system for monitoring and camera/gimbal control

Launched alongside the new RS 3 and RS 3 Pro one-handed gimbals, the DJI Transmission wireless video solution was developed based on the Ronin 4D&s video transmission technology - where the video transmitter is optional - and combines receiving, image control, steering and recording in one.

O3 Pro transmission technology (O for OcuSync) enables a long range of 6 km with extremely low latency, according to DJI, outperforming conventional WiFi transmission. Video is transmitted in 1080p/60fps with live audio control at 16-bit and 48 kHz.
In addition to the traditional 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands, a DFS band has been added, providing up to 23 channels for more interference-free recording. An integrated radio scanner automatically scans the environment for the best radio channel and changes it if necessary. If necessary, you can also manually select a suitable channel to avoid interference between devices.
For wireless image control, a bright 7″ wireless monitor is included with 1,500 nits and an integrated receiver. It supports a transmitter with multiple receivers, as well as two transmission modes - in control mode, monitoring can be done by two receivers simultaneously, while the gimbal and camera can also be controlled remotely. Large teams can activate a transmission mode in addition to the control mode, allowing for an unlimited number of receivers. For large sets, DJI Transmission can operate simultaneously with ten or more transmitters sending signals to ten devices for transmission.

As with the Ronin 4D, DJI Transmission can also be used as a comprehensive control system. When used with the RS 3 Pro, it can act as a gimbal and camera controller, unlocking more features. Thanks to the integrated gyroscope, control can be haptic, i.e. based on the monitor&s position in space. The wireless monitor can also be connected to the Ronin 4D handgrips, DJI Master Wheels, DJI Force Pro or the new DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus to enable more complex remote-controlled shooting.

In addition to simultaneous access to video time codes, the DJI wireless monitor enables independent recording and playback of 1080p/60fps H.264 video.
DJI Transmission is scheduled to begin shipping in September. The DJI Transmission Combo costs from €2299 (depending on VAT) and includes a DJI video transmitter, the DJI bright remote monitor including an aperture, an installation package, a hard case, two WB37 Intelligent Batteries, a WB37 battery charging station, and various cables and battery adapters. The video transmitter and DJI wireless monitor will also be available separately starting at and , respectively.
DJI Ronin 4D Gets Apple ProRes 4444 XQ Support
Speaking of the Ronin 4D, DJI announced some enhancements for this gimbal camera. For example, Apple ProRes 4444 XQ codec support is to be added in August, and a Zenmuse X9 extension cable is also to be introduced (no word on length). With this addition, the Zenmuse X9 gimbal camera can then be used separately from the body of the Ronin 4D, reducing the weight that must be carried when shooting by about 80%.
Furthermore, a Zenmuse X9 L-mount unit will be released, allowing Leica, Panasonic and Sigma L-mount lenses to be attached to the Ronin 4D camera (DJI is now officially a member of the L-mount Alliance).
