The popular photography website DPReview.com (Digital Photography Review) will not live to see its 25th anniversary - parent company Amazon, which bought DPReview in 2007, has decided to shut down the site on April 10, 2023. Until then, camera reviews will still be published - after that, the site will still be accessible for a while, but in read-only mode, which means that comments can no longer be written under the articles. Users who have uploaded photos to DPReview can still download them until April 6. ;){kind=logo}
DPReview was founded in 1998 and is known for its detailed tests and comparisons of cameras, lenses and accessories. It also features photo technology news, buyer&s guides, a large and active forum, and an extensive database of detailed technical information, sample images, and user reviews of digital cameras and lenses. Many of today&s editors and writers were former readers who grew up with DPReview. ;) The farewell of DPReview The end of DPReview was announced by Amazon in its  Annual Review of the Business Plan, in the context of which another 9,000 jobs will be cut (in January, 18,000 employees were already laid off) - the 14 full-time positions of DPReview are only a small, but publicly very visible part of these much larger cuts. These are justified with the generally difficult economic situation.
