An ultra-wide-angle lens is added to DZOfilm's Vespid cine lens series. Like the other seven fixed focal lengths, the 16mm T2.8 supports 8K resolution and covers a full-frame image circle. The optical design includes 14 elements in 10 groups, including one aspherical, three ED and four "high-resolution" lenses. Chromatic aberrations are said to be minimized thanks to APO design.

DZOFILM Vespid 16mm T2.8
The Vespid series is largely uniform in design -- the front diameter is 80mm, but the length and weight vary somewhat. The new lens weighs 930g and is 87mm long. A filter cannot be attached due to the curved lens. The focus travel is 270°, as with the other optics, and the aperture consists of 16 blades. The minimum focusing distance is 25mm; focus breathing is said to be minimal. The sprockets conform to the 0.8Mod standard.
The DZOFILM 16mm T2.8 will ship with Pl- or EF-mount starting Jan. 20 and costs 1,799. The entire Vespid set of eight focal lengths (16mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 90mm (macro), 100mm, 125mm) will cost ,489.
