Since November 13, 2020, the DJI Fly app, which is required to fly the Mavic Mini, Mavic Air 2 and DJI Mini 2 drones, has no longer received an automatic update on Android via the Google Play Store. Users have since had to download (even via DJI's website) and install new versions www.dji.com/de/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly - the link to the Play Store on the official DJY Fly app page no longer exists. The version in the Play Store is 1.2.1, the current version is 1.2.4. The update of the iOS versions still works automatically.

No link to the Google Play Store anymore.
The DJI Fly app is also used to update the firmware of the Mavic Mini, the Mavic Air 2 and the Mini 2 - new functions of the drones introduced by firmware updates often also require an update of the app in order to be used, so the Fly app is doubly important for pilots of the aforementioned drones. Who is responsible for the Play Store update stop is not clear, that there is no official announcement from DJI sprout the rumors - voluntary it is certainly not, because it means for DJI drone owners who want to steer or update their drone via the latest Fly App with an Android smartphone or tablet, only more trouble.

New versions of the DJI Fly app in the future via in-app update function.
DJI has therefore found a work-around: the latest version 1.2.4 (which, however, still has to be downloaded via
DJI directly) enables Android app updates again by performing updates within the app. These can be done manually or automatically in the future if desired. Likewise, the app can be used to update the firmware of the connected drone as well as the FlySafe database.
