Roger Deakins uses the involuntary time off from filmmaking for podcasts -- about filmmaking, of course. Together with his wife James Deakins, who also works on the film as a script supervisor, he talks in the half to one hour episodes about various topics related to the work of a DoP. So far, location scouting, practical lighting and image composition have been discussed. Many more are to follow, also with the support of colleagues who have joined in. The most recent topic was the conversion from film to digital shooting.
