Drone class C0 - DJI Mini 5 Pro costs as much as Mini 4 Pro

Piece by piece, more and more details about the new DJI Mini 5 Pro drone are becoming known. Thanks to several leaks from Jasper Ellens and Mauro Tandoi (x.com/MauroTandoi), we now know not only the price (dronexl.co/2025/08/26/dji-mini-5-pro-animation-retail-price/), but also that of the accessories, new images, and the expected launch date. Despite all the innovations such as improved obstacle detection with LiDAR, a larger 1" sensor, and a more flexible gimbal, it will fortunately weigh under 250g and thus fall into drone class C0.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Price
Jasper Ellens discovered the price for the DJI Mini 5 Fly More Combo RC2 in a European webshop: 1,129 euros (including taxes). This corresponds exactly to the current price of the DJI Mini 4 Fly More Combo RC2. If this is true, it would be good news, as it would mean that DJI is not charging extra for the hardware upgrade, especially the sensors including LiDAR.
According to Ellens, these are the US prices for the DJI Mini 5 Pro accessories: DJI Mini 5 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery: .00 DJI Mini 5 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery Plus: .00 DJI Mini 5 Pro Two-Way Charging Hub: .00 DJI Mini 5 Pro Propeller: .00 DJI Mini 5 Pro Quick Release Propeller Guard (including propeller): .00 DJI Mini 5 Pro ND Filter Set (ND8/32/128): .00 DJI Care Refresh 1-Year Plan: .00 DJI Care Refresh 2-Year Plan: .00
The following video, discovered by beta testers of the Mini 5 Pro, shows how the rotor arms are folded.
Jasper Ellens also discovered a C0 label on the underside of the new Mini 5 Pro in new photos, which means it weighs less than 250 grams. In addition, there is a new button on the underside, which is rumored to be used to start the Mini 5 Pro at the touch of a button, without a controller - similar to the Neo or Flip. Like these, the Mini 5 Pro should also switch on automatically when the propeller arms are unfolded. Another finding concerns the batteries: they should be identical to those of the Mini 4 Pro (and thus also the Mini 3 Pro) in the Mini 5 Pro.

Larger Sensor
One of the most important upgrades of the Mini 5 Pro is the new 1" sensor, which was previously reserved for heavier and more expensive drones such as the DJI Air 3 and is significantly larger than the 1/1.3" sensor of the Mini 4 Pro. This brings advantages especially in low-light performance (and thus also lower noise). Video recording is done with a maximum of 120 fps (instead of 100 fps for the Mini 4 Pro). Like other current models, the Mini 5 Pro naturally also masters intelligent flight modes such as ActiveTrack for automatic tracking and recording of certain objects.
DJI Mini 5 Pro Gimbal
Gimbal Upgrade
As with the latest drone updates (such as the Mavic 4 (www.slashcam.de/news/single/DJI-Mavic-4-Pro-ist-da-und-filmt-mit-neuem-360--Gi-19289.html)), the new Mini 5 Pro also gets a more flexible camera gimbal, which allows more flexible camera movements at a larger angle. The new gimbal should now rotate up to 330° and thus enable real vertical shots and tilt 225°. The propellers should now be easier to change: Instead of the one-way screws, they can be replaced on the Mini 5 Pro by tapping and turning. The propeller guard has also been redesigned and now resembles that of the DJI Flip.

LiDAR for better obstacle detection
Another upgrade concerns the obstacle detection system. As with the Air 3 and the Mavic 4 Pro, it should enable better omnidirectional obstacle detection, which, thanks to a forward-facing LiDAR (and presumably improved sensors), should also work in adverse lighting conditions and thus enable the avoidance of poorly visible obstacles. With the Mavic 4 Pro, this works by means of 6 new sensors in all directions, which also allow flight at a light intensity of only 0.1 lux. Hopefully this will be similar with the Mini 5 Pro.
