Since last fall, Eddie AI has been offered as an AI editing assistant. The GPT-4-based service can log and "view" dialogue-centric video recordings such as interviews or vlogs, and compile a rough cut from them, in which the spoken word is used to spin the common thread.
Multicam recordings as well have been supported since spring for automatic camera perspective changes.
In addition, A/B-roll logging is also available for recordings without speech, and extensions for Adobe Premiere Pro and Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve were recently released, allowing users to better integrate the AI rough cuts into their own editing workflow.
Another new feature is the addition of a Scripted Mode for projects in which finished texts have been spoken into the camera - for example, for promos or presentations. If you feed the Eddie AI with the text template, it creates a first edit from the associated recordings, in which alternative takes are stacked on top of each other. This can then be further edited on the timeline itself.
Raw material of up to 60 minutes is supported for a maximum 20-minute compilation.
However, the Script Mode is only available in the standalone Eddie software 2.0, not via the web interface. Furthermore, at least the Plus subscription for 25 dollars per month is required.
