Edius X editing software was updated today to version 10.2, which brings the following improvements:
Various tasks are said to be faster, such as H.265 decoding, waveform view generation, calculations within complex projects, and rendering of nested sequences. Initialization of plug-ins and loading of projects containing a large number of QuickTitler titles should also be faster. Furthermore, in addition to Intel QuickSync, compatible NVIDIA GPUs can now also pitch in with H.264 file export, which to our knowledge was previously only possible when playing out H.265.
The format support has been extended. It is now possible to import video material from the following current cameras: Sony α1 8K XAVC HS files, Canon EOS-1D X Mark III, EOS R5 RAW and IPB files, and Apple ProRes RAW files shot with Panasonic DC-S1H/ATOMOS NINJA V. In addition, file conversions to various formats can be performed as background processes.
When importing ProRes RAW material, EDIUS X shall automatically detect the correct color space. In addition, the program shall preserve sRGB, DCI-P3 and P3-D65 color spaces when importing and exporting MOV/MP4 files, and preserve the original clip's color space when bin converting to different file formats.
GV Job Monitor has been enhanced with more features, including an additional "Job" tab for checking background jobs. The
Metadata support has been enhanced so that MOV/MP4 file metadata is now listed in the bin, while the on-screen display can show timeline timecode, source timecode, and user bits simultaneously.
The ability to export MP3 audio files is new. Furthermore It is now possible to automatically import exported files into the bin. The EDIUS X Workgroup version also offers an expanded MXF file profile selection in the MXF exporter settings.
Mync has also been updated with all new EDIUS X formats, offering additional import settings and advanced export options. In addition to H.264 and H.265, files can now be exported as Grass Valley HQX and Apple ProRes.
The update to Edius X 10.20 is free for version 10 users.
