With its medium format cameras, FUJIFILM has so far mainly addressed photographers, but "large format" is also booming in professional cine circles. Those who want to go beyond the 35mm full-frame sensor width of 36mm usually have to dig deep into their pockets.
According to the mostly quite reliable sources, the model, which will be released in mid-September, will also significantly improve video recording. Meanwhile, 8K recording (probably only up to 30p) as well as 4K recording with up to 60p is considered to be assured. And all that with up to 10-bit 4:2:2 - among other things in internal ProRes recording. ![]() There is also already information about the sensor at ![]() Among other things, this should enable a faster rolling shutter readout, which used to be a not insignificant problem with medium format cameras. And what will ultimately be decisive in our eyes is whether the FUJIFILM GFX100II will often be used as a film camera. If you want to use every sensor in downsampling, a 100 MPixel sensor for video recording is of course already an enormous challenge for the data streams. At full sensor width, no less than 11648×6552 sensors have to be transported over the interfaces in 16:9 - unless sensors are omitted or the merging of the sensors is already done in the sensor hardware. If FUJIFILM still manages to keep the rolling shutter times and the heat under control during full sensor readout, this camera could make a small dream come true for many a filmmaker. ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: FUJIFILM GFX100II Gerüchte verdichten sich - 8K, 10 bit 4:2:2 ProRes |
