Chinese gimbal specialist FeiyuTech has launched crowdfunding via Kickstarter for its new compact Scorp Mini Gimbal. Feiyu calls it a 4-in-1 gimbal because it can be used with smartphones, action cams, compact cameras and mirrorless cameras with a maximum weight of 1.2kg, replacing different gimbals specifically for such cameras. It offers features such as time-lapse, as well as motion-lapse and hyperlapse recording in video mode, and seamless automatic panorama shooting, among others. ![]() Feiyu Scorp Mini:
Weighing 737 grams, the Scorp Mini joins Feiyu&s Scorp series of 3-axis single-handed gimbals, which still includes the three models with larger payloads (2 x 2.5kg and 4.8kg) for DSLRs and DLSMs, the ![]() Most important functions. One of the most important features of the Scorp Mini is its support for time-lapse video recording. Here, there are several recording modes to choose from, such as the automatic time-lapse function for which a custom motion path can be defined. Hyperlapse recording is also possible, i.e. a strongly moving time-lapse that still delivers smooth camera movement. Scorp Mini also has a space recording mode in which the gimbal automatically rotates 360 degrees during recording. ![]() Feiyu Scorp Mini 4-in-1. Several functions are also available for capturing panoramas, which, for example, automatically produces 360-degree panoramas or large panoramic images in the form of 3x3 matrix shots by simultaneously panning and tilting. In addition, panoramas with self-defined size can be created. The Scorp Mini has five different shooting configurations, such as vertical, underslung or briefcase mode for different shooting situations. ![]() Feiyu Scorp Mini OLED The Scorp Mini is manually controlled via its 1.3" OLED touchscreen, which makes all available shooting modes selectable, as well as several control buttons. The so-called Magic Wheel - a special rotary control - is used to set the parameters on the touchscreen, including the rotation, pan and tilt angles, and also to control the focus of the camera and the optional Focus Follow module. Alternatively, the Scorp Mini can also be controlled and adjusted remotely using the Feiyu SCORP and Feiyu ON mobile app. Mimic control is also possible via app, meaning the gimbal performs the same movements as the connected smartphone. ![]() Feiyu Scorp Mini Follow Focus Module. Fully charged, the Scorp Mini takes 1.6 hours via 18 W fast charge, and one battery charge lasts for over 10 hours of operation. Optional accessories offered by Feiyu include a follow focus module for manually focusing the camera using a dial, as well as an autotracking module that helps keep the selected one in the frame at all times. Cameras can be replaced very quickly using an ARCA quick-release plate. ![]() Feiyu Scorp Set Feiyu offers the Scorp Mini solo (currently still available as a Super Early Bird offer for ) as well as a bundle together with a 712 lux bright magnetic fill light as well as a Focus Follow and Intelligent Tracking module (also still available at a discounted rate as a Super Early Bird offer, at a price of ) - scheduled to start shipping in September 2022. Normally, our usual warning about problems when buying via crowdfunding would come now, but with an established manufacturer like FeiyuTech, which has been around since 2007 and uses Kickstarter as a sales rather than a development funding platform, we think this risk is rather low. ![]() Feiyu Scorp Mini ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Feiyu Scorp Mini: Gimbal für Smartphones, Actioncams, Kompaktkameras und DSLMs für 199 Dollar |
