EOS C70 owners can now download the previously announced firmware version 1.0.1.1. Among other things, the camera gets the ITU BT.709 Standard Gamma option added with the update, with the CP file "BT.709 Standard" being assigned to the Custom Picture settings.
Under the "Whole AF Area" option, a new "Large/Small" AF area size is also added, allowing better AF control over a larger area. Alongside this, touch tracking can be triggered by touching the LCD when using the "Whole AF Area" option, as can face detection when the subject's face is tapped.
Other minor new features include
- a[2x] option at the magnification function
-[Mask 100%] option at[Aspect Marker] and[Safe Area Marker].
- B&W during Magn." as an option in the Assistance Function menu.
- View Assist function on video output from HDMI OUT terminal.
