Sony has released new firmware versions for its mirrorless system cameras Alpha 7R V (4.00) and Alpha 7 IV (6.00). They bring several improvements to shooting and playback functions, such as the ability to display shooting information in a vertical orientation.

Sony Alpha 7R V and a7 IV
As announced, support for writing digital signatures as part of Sony's Camera Authenticity Solution is also being added. However, since corresponding licenses are currently only issued to selected media companies, this option is not relevant for most users initially.
The new features are practically the same for both cameras. Only the a7 IV additionally gets the option to display the audio level on the display at any time during recording.
