Firmware update for DJI Neo brings vertical recording and more

A whole range of new features comes with the recently released firmware for DJI&s inexpensive 4K selfie and FPV drone Neo. The biggest innovation is the ability to now record vertically natively, for example for TikTok or YouTube Shorts. This eliminates the need to bring recorded clips into vertical format afterward in post-production.

With this update, DJI also enables the Neo to work with the

new Goggles N3, which at a price of only 269 euros (plus 199 euros for the Neo and the RC Motion 3 controller for 89 euros, or in the flight-ready DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo for 529 euros instead of 557 euros separately) becomes the cheapest FPV solution in DJI&s range.

Additionally, the update now stabilizes the live-view display in the Goggles N3 and 3, making FPV control via goggles more pleasant as images should be smoother and less shaky. The update also supports audio recording via the app (with noise suppression), when using the RC-N3 or RC-N2 remote control.

The new features of the DJI Neo firmware V01.00.0400

- Support for DJI Goggles N3 has been added.
- Live-view stabilization when using DJI Goggles N3 or DJI Goggles 3 has been added.
- Support for vertical recording has been added. Select the appropriate ratio in the resolution settings for this mode.
- Support for manual control in full-screen mode and toggle of stick mode in control settings has been added in the mobile app control.
- Support for audio recording via the app has been added when using the DJI RC-N3 or DJI RC-N2 remote control.
- Noise reduction for audio recordings can now be set to a natural style to retain ambient sounds.
- Positioning performance has been optimized and tracking flight speed has been increased.
- Some known issues have been fixed.

Update Notes

The DJI Neo, as well as the remote control and associated goggles, should be restarted after installing the firmware update. Attention! The firmware update may reset various flight parameters such as the RTH altitude and maximum flight distance! Users should therefore note their preferred settings before the update and re-enter them after the update.
If the update fails, the DJI Neo, as well as the remote control, associated goggles, and app, should be restarted, and the update attempted again.
