The firmware update for the Sony FX6 (announced in June www.slashcam.de/news/single/Sony-kuendigt-FX6-Firmware-Version-4-0-mit-Anamorph-17958.html) has finally been released. With the new version 4.0, the Cinema Line full-frame camera supports 1.3x as well as 2.0x de-squeezing when filming with anamorphic lenses, both for the viewfinder and the HDMI-out.

In addition, the update also supports Flexible ISO / Cine EI Quick functions, providing the same production workflow as the other Cinema Line cameras, including the FX30 and FX3.
This makes it possible to shoot S-Log3 content with exposure settings by adjusting the ISO sensitivity, as well as with an ISO base setting equivalent to Cine EI, where the ISO base setting is automatically adjusted along with the EI value.
When the shooting mode is set to Flexible ISO, Cine EI, or Cine EI Quick, recording a 3D LUT file to the same memory card is supported, while also using the look used during shooting as the basis for the shooting data.
Also, firmware version 4.0 adds more AF frame rates in Slow & Quick Motion (slow & fast motion), now starting at 7 fps. File names can now be assigned in Camera-ID + Reel# format, as with the FX9, Venice and Venice 2, to ensure easier workflow - especially in multi-camera setups.
