Yesterday, Panasonic announced several new firmware updates for the mirrorless full-frame cameras LUMIX S9, S5II, S5IIX and the mirrorless Micro Four Thirds camera G9II.
The details in detail:
LUMIX S9 firmware version 1.1
- The recording time limit has been relaxed and a new option for recording without a time limit has been added.
- The frame marker function has been expanded and up to three simultaneous displays of frame markers are now possible. This increases versatility when creating images with different aspect ratios or when planning shots with multiple compositions. At the same time, the convenience of shooting in Open Gate has been further improved.
- The phase hybrid autofocus system has been further improved with enhanced subject recognition. There is now a new option for recognising planes and trains as well as certain parts of cars and motorbikes.
- Compatibility with the LUMIX Lab smartphone app has been extended to include remote shooting, remote shutter control and the ability to transfer images selected on the camera.
- Operating stability has been improved.
LUMIX S5II firmware version 3.1 and LUMIX S5IIX firmware version 2.1
- LEICA Monochrome is now available as a photo style.
- Compatibility with the LUMIX Lab smartphone app is now supported.
- The latest Panasonic XLR microphone adapter, DMW-XLR2, is now supported
- The 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency option is now available and has been added to the existing 2.4 GHz option
- A Real Time LUT can now be assigned to the Fn button
- Operational stability has been improved
LUMIX G9II firmware version 2.2
- Compatibility with the LUMIX Lab smartphone app is now supported
- The latest Panasonic XLR microphone adapter, DMW-XLR2, is now supported
- The 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency option is now available and has been added to the existing 2.4 GHz option
- Real Time LUT can now be assigned to the Fn button
- Operational stability has been improved
