Of the newly adopted standard compression High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) provides that it is twice as efficient as the current H.264 standard. Whether actually at half the data rate the same picture quality comes out, the blog has been viewed vcodex, but only by way of the played frames - even more interesting would be a comparison of moving image material. 720p material for it was once encoded with H.264 800Kbps (with the x264 encoder) and used for comparison in HEVC with 420kbps, for it was the HEVC test model encoder HM10.0. In comparison to the played frames encoded in the HEVC version is much softer with less detail (and less artifacts) - mind you at a data rate approximately halved; somewhere so information must be saved ...
