After much discussion about whether and when artificial intelligence will replace real camera shots with generative algorithms, there are already numerous online services that make AI applicable to other production-relevant areas.
One such tool, which combines many video production tasks under one web interface, is called inVideo. This tool can create a script, have it narrated by a virtual narrator, select visuals and music, and completely edit a video project together.
A blatant example is the following video, which was created in a matter of minutes, according to its "producer." This AI video addressed the following topic: "Is Tourette&s responsible for every revolution in history?".
Of course, this video is not a masterpiece, and you would still have the possibility to intervene in the text or clip selection, but the crucial point in our eyes is the production value measured in time.
If you need less than 10 minutes to somehow automatically generate a suitable 2.5 minutes of Youtube content, this doesn&t bode well. Ultimately, this will spark a spammer battle for click cents on YouTube and other social media platforms - even without generative diffusion models for moving images. But these are, of course, already in the making.
Certainly, such tools can also be used for "normal" purposes. However, even the company behind inVideo no longer seems to necessarily adhere to its original concept of only being able to produce more cheaply than precarious content creators.
An official Youtube channel of the company with HowTo videos recently shifted more to spamming. Thus, tutorials can be found here that, among other things, advertise how to "create" 60 YouTube shorts or 60 Instagram reels in 60 minutes.
Ultimately, the problem will migrate to the social platforms, which in turn will have to learn how to reliably filter out such AI content for users. And that will then -tataaa! - of course, an AI will be allowed to do that again;)
