With immediate effect Metabones offers two SpeedBooster variants especially developed for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The BMPCC4K speed boosters ULTRA 0.71x and XL 0.64x are very similar to the standard MFT speed booster adapters, but the optical paths are tuned to the sensor of the Blackmagic Pocket 4K, which is designed differently from other MFT sensors. The keyword here is "filter stack thickness" -- how thick the layer of different glass filters in front of the actual sensor is influences the behavior of the light rays that hit the sensor surface through the lens. While with most MFT sensors this filter layer measures around 4mm, with the pocket it is much thinner. In order to guarantee an equally good image quality, the new adapters are now available.
;) Also externally the adapters are better adapted to the quite voluminous Pocket 4K, as the tripod thread protrudes further down. Camera and SpeedBooster can thus be securely attached together. Both SpeedBooster models are available in standard design with Nikon G- or Canon EF-Mount and as EF-CINE version with a lockable mount.
