Today the AtomOS firmware update 10.52 was officially released, which enables the monitor/recorder Atomos Ninja V to receive the 12bit RAW output of the Panasonic Lumix S1H via HDMI and record it in Apple ProRes RAW. The beta version offered a week ago as a stopgap is thus obsolete.
Recording in the formats 5.9K to p29.97 and 4K/DCI to p59.94 is supported -- the possibility of recording RAW anamorphically in 3.5K (4:3) will be added at a later date. Note that with the 4K option, this does not correspond to the native sensor resolution, so the camera outputs a signal trimmed to Super35. In full format RAW is consequently only offered with 5.9K.
With the RAW input, the following display options are available on the Ninja V:
- Native - Vlog with 3D LUTs for monitoring /
LUT provided by Panasonic LUMIX
- Rec709 - shows RAW input in SDR with up to 6.7 stops of dynamic range.
- HLG - shows RAW Input in HLG with up to 10.5 stops of dynamic range.
- PQ - shows RAW input in PQ/HDR10 with up to 10.5 stops of dynamic range, for scenes with extended spectral highlights
The firmware update 10.52 also brings some bugfixes and functionality enhancements for the interaction with Zcam cameras, see
