Viltrox 35mm F/1.2 LAB for Nikon Z Mount Coming Soon
The Viltrox 35mm F/1.2 LAB, suitable for both video and photo, is set to be released soon for the Nikon Z-Mount; it launched for Sony FE in the summer. With its LAB series, Viltrox aims to appeal to more quality-conscious customers and uses high-quality materials in its manufacturing, among other features.

Viltrox 35mm F/1.2 LAB
The 35mm F/1.2 LAB is equipped with a fast, silent HyperVCM autofocus (Voice Coil Motor). The minimum focusing distance is 34 cm, and focus breathing is said to be minimal. Dual floating focus groups are intended to ensure consistent sharpness from close-up to infinity. The aperture, consisting of 11 blades, can optionally be de-clicked.
The optical design of the lens comprises 15 elements in 10 groups, including 5 ED, 3 HR, and 2 UA elements. A multi-layer nano-coating is intended to keep unwanted flares in check.
For operation, in addition to the focus ring, there is a multi-function ring, as well as an AF/MF switch and two freely assignable buttons on board. A small display shows the current lens settings.
With its weather-sealed metal body, the 35mm F/1.2 LAB weighs 970 g, making it about 50g heavier than the FE version. The length is 123.5 mm with a diameter of 89.2 mm. The filter thread measures 77 mm.
