[16:39 Tue,1.September 2020   by Thomas Richter]

MSI has introduced four powerful new mobile workstations of the WS and WF series with 15.6" and 17.3" displays for professional users, each equipped with the latest hardware: Intel CPUs of the 10th generation up to the 8-core processor i9-10980HK and Nvidia Quadro RTX GPUs up to the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q. All new models have in common a high performance and portability, extended security features, an extra long battery life and a very good image quality of the display.

All models feature a dedicated TPM 2.0 chip for enhanced security and, as a further security feature, a trackpad-integrated fingerprint reader with Windows Hello support - the top models WS66 and WS75 also offer the option of logging in via face recognition (even in the dark thanks to an integrated infrared camera).

Despite its ultra-mobile design - it weighs only 2.1 kg and is only 20 mm high - the 15.6" can
MSI WS66 can be equipped with powerful components like an i9 processor or an RTX 5000 graphics card with 16GB VRAM. Its factory color-calibrated 4K Anti-Glare touchscreen supports the AdobeRGB color space 100%. Its 99.9 Wh battery allows for up to 9 hours of mobile work.

The sister model MSI WS75 is despite its size of 17.3" with 2.4 kg only hardly heavier than the 15.6" WS66. Apart from the possibility to also use extremely powerful hardware, the factory calibrated 4K UltraHD Mini-LED Anti-Glare Display with a very high brightness of 1,000 nits, a DCI-P3 color space coverage of 100% and DisplayHDR1000 specification is a special highlight. The battery of the WS75 provides power for 7 hours operation.

Both are equipped with one Thunderbolt 3, one USB 3.2 Gen2 yp-C, three USB 3.2 Type-A, one HDMI and Ethernet interface and one UHS-III MicroSD card reader. Up to three external monitors can be connected via HDMI and DisplayPort via USB 3.2 Gen2 and Thunderbolt 3. Both models are equipped with 32 GB RAM, which can be upgraded up to 64 GB - 1 (or 2) TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSDs serve as mass storage, another M.2 PCIe Gen 3 NVMe slot can be freely equipped if you want to upgrade later.

The two models MSI WF75 and MSI WF65 are aimed at more price-conscious users, they are not quite as powerful (maximum with a 6-core i7 10750H processor or Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 GPU) and their case is a bit bigger - but they are a bit cheaper and lighter. The 1.9 kg WF65 has a 15.6" display, the WF75 has a 17.3" true color display with FullHD resolution.

Both devices have a USB 3.2 Gen2 yp-C, three USB 3.2 Type-A, one HDMI and one Ethernet interface. They are equipped with 32 GB RAM each, which can be upgraded to up to 64 GB at a later date - 1 TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSDs serve as mass storage, another 2.5" hard disk can be retrofitted later via SATA.

All four new workstations are available immediately in German-speaking countries at prices starting at 1,899 euros.
